Privacy policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
This site is run by Michael K., the author of Circle of Circles. It exists to tell you about the book and, if you ask, to keep you posted by email. Here is exactly what it collects and why.
Newsletter
When you sign up, we store the email address you enter, the time you signed up, which page you used, your browser’s user-agent string, and a one-way hash of your IP address (used only to block automated abuse; the IP itself is not kept). We store this in a database hosted by Neon (PostgreSQL) and use it solely to send you occasional emails about Michael K.’s books, excerpts and the VR edition.
We will never sell or rent your address. Every email includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately. Emails are sent through Resend, which processes your address only to deliver them.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and store links people use. Google sets cookies and processes your IP address under its own policies; we have IP anonymization and Google Signals disabled. You can block analytics with a browser extension or by enabling “Do Not Track” in browsers that honor it.
Store links
Links to Amazon, Bookshop.org and other retailers may be affiliate links, which means the author earns a small commission at no extra cost to you. What happens after you click is covered by that store’s privacy policy, not this one.
VR edition
The VR edition at vr.circleofcircles.love stores your reading position, chosen environment and any offline download on your own device only. Nothing about your reading is sent to us.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete any personal data we hold about you at any time. If you are in the EU/EEA, UK or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA, and we will honor them. Contact the author through officialmichaelk.com.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, which may log standard request data (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and operations.
